581 American Legion presents a pioneering addition to the Roslindale neighborhood, boasting a modern, 5-unit mixed-use development. This project exemplifies turning challenges into opportunities, as we collaborated with the Conservation Commission to enhance the natural environment by rebuilding and reinvigorating adjacent wetland catchment areas with native flora. Leveraging the site's geometry, we curated captivating outdoor amenity spaces for the units, utilizing exposed structural elements to elegantly conceal at-grade parking. The thoughtfully designed massing and carefully selected building colors delineate the structure into two distinct geometries, ensuring harmonious integration with the surrounding vernacular and maintaining an appropriate scale in relation to neighboring architecture
